** CUBA [and non]. 11760, May 31 at 0647, S9+30/40 of deadair except
for windhowl from RHC where somethings` always wrong; also DA of S7/S9
on 9710 at 0650 atop a JBA understation, presumably VATICAN in
Ukrainian at 0605-0700 Sundays only (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** OKLAHOMA. UT Sun May 31 at 0321, CSPAN played a sesquihour debate
among four of the candidates for governor in the upcoming Republican
primary, originally aired on KSWO 7 [RF 11] Lawton. There was
certainly less mutual mudslinging than on their paid political ads
infesting all commercial TV channels in the state - but quite aside
from their other cons, I make note of their positions about whether
OETA, the statewide public TV network, should be allowed to continue
or be abolished. Keating and McCall ANTI; Mazzei sidestepped the
issue. Drummond PRO-OETA, FWIW (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY. 11660.004-, Sun May 31 at *1637, VOT English cuts on very
late as the olds is about to end: UTwente suffering severe storm noise
from all over western Europe, so I try Hyderabad, India, S9/+25 but
with local line noise. Next try Qatar remote, and stay there, S9+15/20
no noise but still tough copy. 1643 TRTVOTVorld promo and Letterbox
theme. Cemre`s initial comments not much understood, but about the Eid
holiday concluding. To the mail at 1645. It`s increasingly obvious
that a handful of individuals are repeaters and repeaters into this
program:
1) Chris --?, Port Alberni BC Canada, got his 200th QSL. 2) Arun?
Kumar?, Tamil Nadu, India heard Turkish on 15320 at 1602 22 May. 3)
Darryl? Hassan?, Natchez MS, 6165? 4) Siddartha Papajarjee, New Delhi.
5) Annan? Bane?, SWL Club in India, 6165. 6) Ricky Hein, SD, complains
about 11780 QRM to 11785; and 7275 at 03 is only SINPO 11111. 7)

Selangor, Malaysia, 7853 km away, 4 reports including German on 9840.
9) --?, West Bengal. 10) Mohammed Breyel, KL, Malaysia, 9765. 11)
Chris Campbell, Columbus OH, about the 11780 Brasil QRM problem to
11785; sent a recording. Has listened since 1977? Discusses this for
quite a while from 1703 to 1710 when ``that is all`` and theme; 1711
``always-by-your-side`` promo (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
