WORLD OF RADIO HITLIST update Hi Glenn, my latest Hitlist update. https://www.w4uvh.net/hitlist.htm
1) Slovakia - R Slovakia Int: Added link to Slovak home page which includes links to other language pages (difficult to find otherwise). 2) Switzerland - R Gloria: Added UT offset notation (all programmes listed on website are in Central European (Summer) time) and added link to their Facebook page. 3) USA - WRMI: www.guerogram.org alternative view of WRMI sked has now updated to A-26. 4) Vietnam - VO Vietnam: VOV have implemented a new web design. Links have been updated, however frequency & programme schedules are not currently available, but are promised to come "soon". The next update is scheduled for late June Best wishes and 73, Alan Roe ** BOTSWANA. 15610, June 2 at 0629 music S5/S7. If it`s Tuesday, this must be VOA Botswana testing. Also JBA carrier on 12060 at 0633. Ron Howard also reports: ``June 2 - VOA Botswana again heard testing transmitters on 15610 (good) // 12060 (good) // 17690 (extremely poor); heard via Gqeberha, So. Africa KSDR remote; playing EZL musical loops from 0635+ UT. Ron (San Francisco, California)`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CHAD [non]. 15505, June 2 at 0630, unknown language the SSOB at S9+20. It`s R. Ndarason International in Kanuri, Kanembu or Buduma via Woofferton, UKOGBANI (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 11760, June 2 at 0632, S9+10/15 of deadair from RHC yet achieving SSOB status = strongest signal on band; SAWA = something`s always wrong at (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** JAPAN [and non]. 17800, June 1 at 2345, S7/S9 music with regular SAH fading, indicating QRM from another station a few Hz away. Thought it might be jammer vs SOH, but Aoki shows an overlap between NHK in Japanese, and CNR8 in Mongolian via Qiqihar 202 site, which is in NE China, Manchuria, just east of Mongolia. Yes, SAH = sub-audible heterodyne (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. Another fruitless search for sporadic E FM DX hopping around almost to OK, on caradio June 2 at 1455-1505 UT only encounters some unusual closers: 97.3 at 1457 UT June 2, Catholic Radio Network, Ave Maria Radio, EWTN Radio, Global Catholic Radio; finally full legal ID for multi-stations starting with KKNG, 97.3 Blanchard-OKC, OKCR.org, Oklahoma Catholic Radio. Blanchard is SSW of OKC. This is only 1 kW ERP, 244m, and a much weaker signal than e.g. the KOKC translator on 95.3 which has a height and proximity advantage. 141 km = 88 stmi for 97.3. Here`s a map and list of their stations, never mind those insignificant call letters: https://okcr.org/stations including COMING SOON: 104.9 in ENID! But FCC LMS has no entry for 104.9 in Enid. Rather: KEUC Fac ID: 191538 FRN: 0037734779 OK RINGWOOD Service: Full Power FM Licensee Name: SPIRIT CATHOLIC RADIO OKLAHOMA, LLC Expiratin Date: 06/01/2029 Facility Status: LICENSED Facility Status Date: 02/12/2026 Licensee address in Omaha NE! Contact Rep in Jaxonvil Beach FL! KEUC call has existed since 12/05/2013. Full power means 100 watts ERP! hardly reaching Enid from Ringwood about 20 miles west. I had multiple logs/reports about it from 2014 to 2023, culminating with this exhaustive report including photo as of July 8, 2023: https://www.w4uvh.net/ghlogs_2023_0706_0712.txt It`s not been heard in the past triyear, but have not been back to Ringwood to seek it (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. 100.3, June 2 at 1504 UT, a solid fully quieted $tereo signal into caradio, instead of Es DX - a frequency normally vacant for me. Western Oklahoma weather by YL from News9 = KWTV, Weatherford and Clinton ads, job open at Wright Media, finally 1508 non ID as ``Coyote Classic`` = pronounced Kigh-Oat. Per WTFDA FMDB this is a mere translator, K262CW of KWEY 1590, 250 watts, 106 meters HAAT. Not that far away, 122 km = 76 stmi, but must be huge tropo ``pipeline`` connexion. FCC LMS says 250 watts, HAAT 61 meters (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** TURKEY. 11785.004+, June 1 at 2213, VOT English not off the air, S9+10/30 during music into UTwente but with OTH radar racket QRM (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U K [non]. 12095, June 1 at 0634, S6/S7 algo in HSNL = high storm noise level; BBC Hausa via ASCENSION scheduled. Many other BBC bcs on 12095, via Oman, Madagascar (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 28300 CW, June 1 at 2333, JBA beacon, partially copied as DE WK?4N/B. Must have been this one as in WGB roster: ``28299.5 WD4NKA/B - Deltona FL USA EL98iv - #0/1/2 (21 Feb 2026) Note: ID + grid + 5" carrier + eee - Ant Cushcraft AR-10 "Ringo" 1/2 wave vert 20 feet agl 3w`` - QRZ.com: ``WD4NKA USA flag USA, GARY G JOHANSON, 1125 ELGROVE DR, DELTONA, FL 32725, USA`` He goes into great detail about the beacon and lots more at: https://www.qrz.com/db/WD4NKA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2349 monitoring: confirmed Monday June 1 from 1930.5 on SW Radio Gold, Germany, 3975.009+, S9+5 into UTwente; and 6160, S8/S9 into recommended Barney`s Bedford SDR which is getting it better than UTwente. I started DXing in the 1960s when I was still in my teens. Back then, it was a hobby for young guys. It was all about chasing QSLs. Broadcasters like VOA, Radio Moscow and BBC, I regarded as nuisances. They were all over all the bands all day and all night. Now I would love to have those times back again. Later on, I became a listener. I enjoyed the programs from BBC, SRI, D Welle, HCJB and Radio Nederland. Sure, I fell for the propaganda from R Moscow and Radio South Africa. I was duped. Now, we`ve become a hobby for old men like you and me. We get excited about receiving a signal from some exotic locale, even if we don`t understand the language. Keep up your good work.
