Good stuff!  I've been wondering about Screenman - where's the tutorial you mentioned?

To get to ScreenMan D ^XUP  then after login type “DDS” and you should see a list of options one being “DDS SCREENMAN MENU” . Select ScreenMan and you have the menu.

Fil is correct. For some reason ScreenMan doesn’t appear popular with VA, so you won’t see many ScreenMan options. I, on the other hand, find it extremely useful and use it extensively in our system. There is a very helpful ScreenMan tutorial worth doing. Let me know if you can’t find it. After doing the tutorial take a look at option XQOPED. Test it. Analyze it. It does a great job of presenting the versatility of ScreenMan. I should add that while ScreenMan does a very nice job of presenting a nice interface for terminal emulation VT320, it is NOT a windows type GUI. However, it lets you navigate very nicely.

Feel free to email off list if you want to discuss ScreenMan further. I don’t think ScreenMan has many supporters on this list and see no need of using their bandwidth.

Thanks,

thurman

Second question, is ScreenMan able to view any module, such as Lab and Pharmacy.

Nancy, I don't think he is referring to the editor.

Anyway, if you are referring to the the same screenman I'm thinking of, the answer to your question is yes but I don't know of any predefined screens that are distributed with FOIA so that means you have to build your own. Screenman did not catch on with the VA application programmer community.  List Manager - a predecessor of ScreenMan - is used in quite a few clinical applications. It's a way to present the user with a screen's worth of data instead of roll and scroll without CPRS GUI.

I forgot to mention that you can set ScreenMan as your preferred editor in the New Person file when you set yourself up as the system manager. There is a lot more that can be done with ScreenMan, but I am not familiar with how that is done so I hope someone else, like Thurman, will comment about that.

I have SemiViva 0.4 installed and I know how to run the listener until I get in to this point:

GTM>

I know that I can type D Q^DI to get in to FileMan, but I would like to use ScreenMan.

Second question, is ScreenMan able to view any module, such as Lab and Pharmacy.

Third question I typed the following:

GTM> D ^XUP

Access Code:

What is the access code for this?

Best regards,

Raeid
