Greg, 

I think you confuse me with one who understands... :-)  I got lost in
the initial-rrhea again.  What advantages would one have using "IMAP"
over a VPN.

Just for the record, I do know what VPN,TCP,UDP,POP,FTP,HTTP mean. 
But I'm fuzzy on IMAP,LDAP.
