Registration, being the first section to start with in an effort of
set up a Non-VA facility, is the center of my attention at the moment.

I stuided Office-EHR closely, tried to copy what they have done with
Registration into HuiOpenVistA. So far so good, i have learned a lot
of stuff which was previously was very agitating, like when you try to
register a non-veteran, the Eligibility code for such patients can
only be "Humanitarian Emergency", which i guess is exactly the case in
a VA facility.

Similarly the three fields that i mentioned earlier, are VA specific.
Can i do something about it is still a big question? Do they have any
other dependencies? Why did VOE chose to create a new patient type,
rather than just modifying the existing Non-veteran patient type. What
are the other aspects that i should look out for while setting up in a
Non-VA facility?

That might be very right, the list also has hospitals from Canada.
Anyway, i copied the question from a list of stuff i had written down.
I guess i missed most of em, so i am pasting them again here.
-----------------------------------------------------
In order to create a "Hospital" in VistA one comes across following
designated entities:

Medical Center
Institute
Facility (This file contains the list of all US Hospitals – 5861 entries)
Division (Medical Center Division)
Hospital Location (Wards, Clinics, Labs)

Question: What is the exact purpose of having the whole list of
hospitals in the FACILITY file?

We assume that MEDICAL CENTER & INSTITUTE are interchangeable terms
for a Hospital

Question: Is the above assumption correct?

While creating a hospital, we adhere to the following hierarchy:

Institute/Medical Center = (Hospital)  --> Division --> Hospital Location

Question: Is the above hierarchy valid?

During Admission, we come across the following fields:

Admitting Regulation
Type of Admission
Facility Treating Speciality

These entries available in these fields seem to be appropriate from VA
point of view.

Question: Are there any dependencies on the above data sets, or are
these just labels to the record? Can we add or delete them without
worrying about their dependencies?
