Aloha All, As a result of some very BAD experience, I advise everyone to NOT install Kodak's Easyshare software on your Main, or only, computer. If you have a spare computer that you don't really care about, then you should install this software on it, if at all. The first problem is that the program offer's to 'allow' you to share your pictures with Kodak, which is alright, if that's what you want to do. But, if you decide to decline the offer, it doesn' take; you still wind up sharing your pictures's with Kodak! In my case, I had quite a few pictures that I should not have shared with anyone, nevermind Kodak! (Yes, you can use your own imagination, here!) The second problem is that the software has no un-install feature! If you want to uninstall the program, you have to get a special utility from Kodak to do it (It's on their Easyshare web site, but it's difficult to find). That special utility is DANGEROUS, as it can remove a lot of other stuff along with the Easyshare software! In my case, I lost all three of my DVD-RW drives and couldn't get them back! They were not physically damaged, just inaccessible. In talking to other's about this problem, I've found that it can cause you to lose just about anything that is connected to a serial bus, either USB or Firewire (IEEE-1394); two of the thre DVD-RW drives I lost were external and connected to a Firewire bus. One 'guy' lost his USB connected keyboard and mouse; you can imagine the problems that THAT caused! luckily, he still had an old PS2 mouse and keyboard in his 'junk' collection. I wound up doing a complete re-install of Windows (2K Pro) just to get my DVD-RW drives back! That was something I had planned on doing, anyway, so I didn't mind it quite so much. All in all, it's best NOT to install this software on any computer you really depend on! Have a wonderful day!
