I had been using QuickBooks (QB) since the first Windows version. (ver2).

Disclaimer:
I'm an award winning beta tester with QB, and have been for years...
Everything that I use works great since I was on the"~inside~" and made
sure of it... <grin> I was a beta on-line banking specialist - a sub (or
super-set<?>) of the tests in 1997. (I was always good with modems.)
I am not sure my Bank supports Peachtree..
One of the reasons they "are" my Bank is QB.......

I could not adjust to the totally different point of view PT used...
It was like night and day... (IMHO)
As another poster said, there is nothing wrong with different.
As long as you don't mind making the switch and learning everything
from scratch...
OTOH, If you started with Peachtree, the switch the "other way" would
likely be just as "hard"...

PLUS, I had the newest release of QB, and the "import your QB to
Peachtree" was not supported for my version... They never figured<?>
anyone would need it that soon, and/or they were not "up to speed"
with all the changes on the new QB version...
When I wanted to get rid of the PT program they said (at that time)
the license was NOT transferable and could not be sold... I was stuck
with it, period... (I bought it at Retail, with a good rebate...)

Another reason switching was hard.... After using a program that long,
I was totally used to it, and had been using "work-arounds" so long they
were second nature... Doing things slightly differently makes you a wonderful
beta tester since they can only program for what they "think" a normal user
will do, not what actually happens out in "the real world"...

I could always crash the program (in beta) right up to the last pre-release
builds...
(That always surprised them...) <grin>
There is only one thing I do now that crashes it, but I forget what it is
as I adjusted, and no longer do it...
I currently have QuickBooks Premier - (~"Specialized"~) Edition 2005.
FWIW: "Specialized" (my word), is an industry specific type of install...

PS: Joe, for some reason, my replies to you automagically go to the list AND
you...
(I know the list is fast and do not "add" you myself...)

So did you leave Peachtree behind because it was so different or
because it wasn't very good?
