Today, I tried to enable 'Games' on of my PC's. If necessary, I'll explain how/why I installed W8.1pro-64bit OS on it. The OS seems to run sorta fine, yet, I can not 'add feature-Games' to it, or, I can not even see it in the 'Programs/Features' button of the control panel. So, I decided to go back to the originalM$ DVD I used to build this PC. This is where things got truly strange........................... :(
I think I get the M$ need and use of their 'activation' business. FINE!

What truly confused me was that when I typed in my given 25-digit 'Product Key,' I got told that this key is not allowed! Please enter another Product Key. DUH!??

o I believe that a Produce Key is a 25-digit number (from M$) used to identify my use of legitimate M$ sw that I paid for. It is used to install the OS and/or other'Features' after
the original install event.

oI believe the the Product ID is a 20-digit number created and recorded on my PC that may identify my PC as using 'Genuine M$ SW.' There may be other uses, but at this point I
am clueless.

Does this mean I need human intervention??????????????
Can someone please share a phone number???????????????

OK, perhaps M$ really wants my 'Product ID?' I go and find that 20-digit number and
enter this number. Again M$ says not allowed. I give upagain................
The PC works fine. No trouble at all; even upgraded the nVidia driver!

OK, tomorrow I will start reading my 'Windows 8.1 for Dummies' book! I romise! No more
questions from me!
Best,
Duncan
