So, what is your question or are you just telling us your thoughts. My personal recommendation would be a case with side cover fans, room behind the motherboard tray to hide wires and a bottom mounted PSU because it uses cool ambient air instead of warm case air to cool itself (I love my Cooler Master CM690). So, do you do RAID by any chance?

Lian Li Classic Series PC-9F caught my eye. Other then it pulls PSU air from outside the case and point to bottom PSU in case ?
Been partial to Supermicro cases but their service is the worse.

Always thought the PSU helped ventilate the case. with those nice big bottom fans.
