I have the Microsoft Wireless Comfort Keyboard 1.0A ( with a wireless optical mouse 2.0) on my second system and it has worked well. I also have a logitech something in the office and it works well too...except when the batteries go.

The problem I see with wireless kb and mice is how your stuff is arranged. On my main home system (MS Natural wired kb, Wireless laser mouse 6000 v2.0), I have my case against a wall to my left. My mouse and kb are to my right and center, respectively. My 25" monitor is sort of in-between. This seems to cause problems with the signal getting to the receiver at the back/top of hte case, as far as the mouse goes. It would be better to have an usb extender cable to bring the receiver out from the back/top of the pc so it would be closer/more direct line-of-sight to the mouse. That way, reception is better and you still get the benefit of no cord on the mouse. IMO, all wireless desktop stuff would have extender cables to get the receiver out in the open air. Metal is metal even at low frequencies (well, at 47 MHz, anyway, and especially at 2.4 GHz).

If anyone has suggestions for a good wireless mouse/keyboard, I would
appreciate it. I'm still using an old Microsoft Wireless Multimedia
Keyboard v1.0. It works fine, but sucks batteries and the range is
horrible.

I know wired mice are better for gaming, but I don't do FPS games.

It has taken a lot of practice to use it in MMO's, but I have
essentially got it to the point where I can use most of the buttons
correctly when I want to. Being able to put 12 hot keys at my thumb
is pretty huge.

Okay, how do you use it without constantly dialing long distance? ;-)
