I have used wireless mice and keyboards since Win 3.1 days, and IMHO the Logitech mice are superior to any out there.... just don't get anything BT, unless it is for your laptop, in which case the tiny MS BT is better. Range will depend on your location.. mine sucks and I get a max of 4- 6 feet which is seems to be the norm. Keyboard performance is about the same. They are designed to put the charger / transmitter on your desktop right next to your workspace.

Currently I am using a cordless Logitech keyboard / laser mouse combo set on my secondary PC and a G7 cordless on my primary. Laser mice are a lot smoother then optical. I really like the G7, it fits my hand and comes with two batteries so one is always charging. The keyboard on my primary computer is a corded G15 which I can't imagine computing without. It is out of production (I own two for a backup), and the new models ,the G17 and G19 just don't have the power of the old G15, although the G15 is a huge keyboard with a back lit moveable display. Size was the reason they went out of production. Not something you want to take to a LAN party. The G15 does, however, have 27 macro buttons which can be saved in quick load profiles. They are nice in gaming but I use them daily to launch apps, run scripts and things like that. Easy to use, easy to setup, I love this thing!

The reason gamers don't particularly like cordless mice is that once they stop moving they tend to go to sleep very quickly, and you have to click them to wake them up, which in MMO gaming can be a unacceptable annoyance.

People who want cordless for a home theater are not happy with the range. There is one manufacturer, I forget who it is, that makes a keyboard and air mouse that is specifically made for this task with an acceptable range. I read about it but can't remember the manufacturer nor the name.... but they are out there.

If anyone has suggestions for a good wireless mouse/keyboard, I would
appreciate it. I'm still using an old Microsoft Wireless Multimedia
Keyboard v1.0. It works fine, but sucks batteries and the range is
horrible.

I know wired mice are better for gaming, but I don't do FPS games.
