I say go for an external enclosure. Your computer will have way too much cables and stuff running through it.
Something like this: http://www.sansdigital.com/towerraid-plus/tr8mbp.html You could put in eight 3 TB WD Drives and get 25 tb of space. Or around 22 TB in Raid 5. I have the 4 bay model and am very happy with it. I store all my rips on there for conversion to MKV.
