It's laying on a shelf above my head in my basement :) I think the only time it's ever had a monitor hooked up to it was for installing the OS, haha. After that it has been remote desktop or SSH to get into the various VM's.
I have the stock cooler on the CPU, so no problem fitting the top on. I also put all the optional fans in the case since I had them laying around. I've never had a problem with anything in it probably because of the airflow. You could probably get away with a smaller heatsink because of this too.
