actually re thinking my game plan, this MB and cpu are 3 years old now and while still running fine may be better to hop forward a little.

Are i5's still best bang for the buck ? Build my son one awhile back on a micro board. mb and a chip might set me back 5 or $600. have some ddr3 ram new that was miss ordered for a customer and my video is still pretty good. would be nice to take full speed advantage of the drives.

pondering.
thanks

You might could create a VM from the old machine (P2V). and then you could
access the old system via a VM and still have your new system.

thanks, have already decided not mess with dual boot which would require
leaving the bios at IDE. What I should do if I really felt I needed to is
just build another box and KVM the things for dual boot :-) decided to stop
sitting on the fence and just froggy hop. Will loose some programs I like
and use but I am sure new ones can be found.

thanks again
