The st30 has served me well enough for the price. Edge lit lcd sucks, period, CCFL was better.
If I could have gotten a disco'd xbr9 I would've but stock long since gone and for < $1500 nothing led compared to the old CCFL xbr9 ($3600 set new, $1800 closeout). Feature wise I am not so impressed with the panasonic but for the price the picture is great and minor feature loss tolerable. Fewer HDMI inputs, no svideo, spartan controls, power hungry & warm running, lacks much of the advanced tweakabilty vs. 2x expensive Sony yet still great picture and a shelf above Vizio or similar priced led.
