I'm leaning towards telling people if they want to use free just go with MSE due to ease of use and if they want to purchase that Kaspersky is the best choice for AV.
For OEM software, the Preinstallation discs are for setting up an environment where you can get everything installed and ready or make a script that runs on first boot, etc. I don't use them personally, but if you're putting out dozens of the same machines it can be a time saver.
