Hi, My name is Nanette Stoll and I am a library technician for Vaughan Public Libraries in Thornhill, Ontario Canada. This summer my library put me in charge of cataloging their collection of Hebraica. I am aware that the Library of Congress has suggested the use of symbols for the letter aleph and ayin. I do not have the suggested symbols on my keyboard. I have been using an apostrophe to represent aleph and what appears to be an accent grave (extreme upper left of the keyboard under the tilde) for ayin. Do you have any other recommendations. I would be very appreciative of some guidance on this subject. I have read Paul Maher's book Cataloging Hebraica but he uses symbols that nobody including the Library of Congress uses.
