Survivors of The Shoah Visual History Foundation is seeking qualified 
candidates for Historical Content Analayst to perform Cataloguing and Indexing

The Cataloguing Department is responsible for identifying and indexing the 
content of the Shoah Foundation's videotaped testimonies, allowing easy 
retrieval to facilitate the development of educational materials and other 
media.  This is a project-based position targeted to start January, 2004.

Using independent judgement and discretion, Historical Content Analysts 
index videotaped Holocaust survivor testimonies using the Shoah 
Foundation's proprietary cataloguing software and guidelines:

We are seeking candidates with:

Fluency (oral and written) in English and at least one of the following 
languages: Hebrew, Russian, Polish, Dutch, French, Spanish, Czech / Slovak, 
Greek, Romani, or Yiddish.

Undergraduate degree in European history, Political Science, or Judaic 
Studies with coursework in Holocaust History

Attention to detail

Desire and ability to view and work with Holocaust-related material on a 
sustained basis

Legal certification to work in the U.S.

We also prefer candidates who demonstrate the following capabilities:

Familiarity with relevant geographic names

Library Science background and cataloguing or indexing experience

Familiarity with relevant foreign cultures
