The answer depends on what you want to accomplish. If you want the most money, then you have to invest the time. You could offer them in 10 book lots on ebay. This would reduce the packing. You could hold an action for congregants only to sell the most expensive ones and sell the rest at $1. I have found that unless the books have unusual value, the time needed to sell them to non-library visitors is not worth the effort.
My suggestion is sell the majority off a book truck sitting in the library. Try to sell the most valuable ones via auction.
