Hello Safranim, After seeing all of the recent unhappy posts regarding the closing of Jewish libraries across the country, it is my pleasure to post this job... Michelle ---- Work in a unique Jewish educator's resource center with a collection of over 10,000 items (including books, music, videos, Judaica and more). The Center for Jewish Education in Baltimore is seeking a part-time librarian for their resource center library. The librarian must have knowledge of library materials, equipment and procedures including classifying and cataloguing methods, skill in using computers and the internet. Knowledge of written Hebrew required. The ideal candidate has an MLS, a background in education, 3-5 years library experience, and is comfortable consulting with teachers about reader interest levels, books, authors, and selection criteria. Other criteria include willingness to conduct Story Hour, facilitate a summer reading club, create book displays and coordinate other projects as needed. Successful candidate will be a self-starter who loves to work with patrons. Hours include Tuesday mornings, Wednesday evenings and occasional Sundays.
