The story about the two brothers who look after one another and on whose land, in recognition of their good deeds, Solomon built the Temple, is a staple of Jewish children's literature. It is usually attributed to midrash. Does anyone know of a precise source for the story, whether midrash, the Talmud, or the Tanakh?
