"Language and the Yiddish Theater" You are cordially invited to a Yiddish of Greater Washington lecture by Dr. Miriam Isaacs. Dr. Isaacs will speak in Yiddish about various linguistic issues regarding Yiddish theater. For example, which languages and dialects were used and the reasons for their usage. In a multi-lingual milieu, when was Yiddish used? When was Russian, Hebrew, or German used? Dr. Isaacs' talk will be chronological in nature and will provide numerous details and examples of playwrights and actors.
