I have long been an admirer of Rabbi Jonathan Sacks' books. Perhaps
you might consider To heal a fractured world or The dignity of
difference. I haven't finished reading his latest The home we build
together: Recreating society, but so far it's been a great
read. His works deal with the issues of modern Judaism, ethics,
tikkun 'olam as well as Torah study. What I find to be a strength is
that his works are appreciated by a very wide audience, regardless of
the reader's age, faith or culture. In general, it's a pleasure to
read his passionate, yet academic, writing. I'm working on an
annotated bibliography of his works which I hope to share with AJL in
the near future. Have any of you experience teaching his works to a
group and if so, what has been the response?
Best,
