Hi, Basya,
I used to work in the Corporate Finance Dept. of a Fortune 500
firm. It was acceptable to say that because of religious practices,
one had to leave on Fridays in time for Sabbath and could not work on
Saturdays BUT that the work would be made up by working as late as
necessary on other days. The firm hired the candidates with the best
experience and other qualifications for the work.

You need to determine whether the employer would allow such
flexibility or whether the job requires a certain schedule. This
discussion should definitely take place early in your interview
process, assuming that you and the employer are considering you for
the position.

Good luck!

Regards,
Melinda
