My reform synagogue library has 2,300 books in it. 450 of them are
Jewish children's books. I just finished automating the collection in
Resource Mate. It is now time to finish the organizing. The
children's books were originally organized by category. They also had
some Elazar numbers on them. I changed the system so they are now
organized by Elazar number. The Religious School Director has asked
me to pull out all the Jewish books for children on an upcoming
holiday right before the holiday so she can share them with faculty to
use in their classrooms. Sorting by Elazar number makes it harder to
find both the fiction and non fiction on a particular holiday. Should
I switch it back to organizing by category or keep it as it is? The
previous Temple Beth David Librarian was not an MLS Degree'd
Librarian. She was a Library Paige at a public library.
