AJL Canada presents “Combating Antisemitism Through Children’s Literature.” Sydell Waxman, author and retired teacher, will address the history and definition of antisemitism; children’s author Kathy Kacer will discuss how children’s books can help children understand and combat antisemitism; and Professor Larry Swartz, University of Toronto, will focus on the ways children’s books can assist educators in addressing tough topics such as antisemitism. The moderator will be Caroline Ingvaldsen, retired librarian. A bibliography will be provided. This event is sponsored by AJL’s SSCPL Division and is open to members and nonmembers.
