Dear AJL members,

I am thrilled to announce that Gail Shirazi is the 2024 Fanny Goldstein Merit
Award Winner.

Serving 47 years at the Library of Congress, Gail has contributed immensely to
our community of Jewish libraries through her far-reaching collection
development efforts at LC and across other libraries, by arranging numerous
public programs in different venues, by connecting AJL members with other
colleagues, and by serving on several AJL annual conference and programming
committees. Gail’s boundless advocacy and passion are unforgettable, and her
extraordinary comradery is an inspiration to us all. Please see the attached PR
for more information.

Congratulations, Gail! We are so proud of you!!!

I thank my FGA committee members for their help in selecting such a deserving
AJL member for this prestigious award: Daniel Scheide and Aviva Rosenberg.

Please join me in congratulating Gail on her well-deserved recognition by email
and/or by attending the June annual conference in San Diego, where she will be
receiving her award.

Thank you,

Rachel
