Unfortunately, books that erase or actively malign Israel are making incursions into schools through ethnic studies or “Teach Palestine” programs in K–12 schools. This presentation will examine how an anti-Israel ideology has infiltrated teachers’ organizations and found its way into curricular resources, lesson plans, and book promotion platforms. The presenters will analyze the content of several anti-Israel titles and contrast it with books that deepen knowledge of Israel and Jewish history. They will demonstrate how the CAMERA Education Institute and its resources help parents, teachers, and librarians fight antisemitic indoctrination in publicly-funded schools, libraries, and institutions. This event is sponsored by AJL's SSCPL Division and is open to members only. * AJL Presents: Navigating Goodreads with Liza Wiemer Wednesday, September 25, 2024 4:30 pm PT / 7:30 pm ET With over 150 million members, Goodreads is the largest community of readers and has a powerful impact on our book community.
