Hi, I think many libraries will find this book of interest:

The Science Behind the Mishnah

Anyone who learns Talmud or Mishnah-whether they are 8 years old or 80-can't
help but want answers to basic scientific questions these texts discuss.
Unfortunately, not everyone who teaches Talmudic texts has the scientific
education needed to answer such questions. The result is often
frustration-and sometimes worse: a stifling of the healthy drive for truth,
clarity, and understanding. The Science Behind the Mishnah comes to address
these problems.

Jewish thinkers such as the Rambam, Maharal, and Vilna Gaon (to name but a
few) all wrote of the benefits, importance, and sometimes even religious
obligation to study the natural sciences. Their rationale was twofold. First
and foremost, scientific knowledge is often essential for correctly
understanding and fulfilling the Torah itself. Second, an appreciation of
the genius behind the natural world deepens one's love and reverence for the
Creator.

The Science Behind the Mishnah provides students of Talmud and Mishnah with
a resource to understand the principles of natural law that underpin topics
encountered in Meseches Berachos. It does so in a way that not only gives
the reader a better, deeper understanding of both science and the Talmudic
text itself but also in a way that is mindful of-and consistent with-the
dual rabbinic rationales for studying science in general.

The Science Behind the Mishnah is a visually stunning and engaging book. At
its core, it includes 32 stimulating chapters covering a wide range of
scientific areas pertaining to topics mentioned in the Mishnah. These are
supplemented with hundreds of mesmerizing photographs and dozens of diagrams
and infographics. The book also includes a comprehensive glossary with
concise yet thorough explanations of some 175 scientific terms and provides
sequences of study for inclusion in a school curriculum for physics,
chemistry, general biology, human biology and Earth science. Yeshiva
students (and their parents!) will find it a joy to read cover to cover, and
it will serve as an invaluable reference book for any library where the
Talmud or Mishnah is found.
