Dear Rebekah, I can recommend Joshua Teplitsky's course - I know him well, and he's an excellent teacher, well versed in Jewish book history (full disclosure: I also co-direct a project <https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://footprints.ctl.columbia.edu/__;!!KGKeukY!z7DcNerKiX0G4MrR8WDoNKRd2Fk7EHDcYTI_y_9nD7zxEzZonJpB-ZzIZ8ly815DQuOrOZFa6eochtXwkgTy$ >with him that focuses on the movement of the early printed Jewish book :) ). I know others on this list have indeed taken this course and enjoyed it, and they can chime in directly as well.
As far as learning: I co-teach a regular course at Columbia called Jewish Book Cultures in Early Modern Europe. For that, I adapted <https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://guides.library.columbia.edu/c.php?g=869414&p=6240198__;!!KGKeukY!z7DcNerKiX0G4MrR8WDoNKRd2Fk7EHDcYTI_y_9nD7zxEzZonJpB-ZzIZ8ly815DQuOrOZFa6eochlDDiY1o$ >Bruce Nielsen's excellent libguide for Jewish book history for Columbia; it's a constant work in progress, but hopefully will have some resources to get you started. When we taught it during covid, I created a site <https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://jewishstudiescolumbia.com/jbc/jewish-book-cultures-in-the-early-modern-world/index__;!!KGKeukY!z7DcNerKiX0G4MrR8WDoNKRd2Fk7EHDcYTI_y_9nD7zxEzZonJpB-ZzIZ8ly815DQuOrOZFa6eochqtmq6sZ$ >with some basic resources - it needs some updating, but might be useful as well. Unfortunately there isn't a single book that provides a good comprehensive overview (yet), but the Encyclopedia of Jewish Book Cultures <https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://referenceworks.brill.com/display/db/ejbo__;!!KGKeukY!z7DcNerKiX0G4MrR8WDoNKRd2Fk7EHDcYTI_y_9nD7zxEzZonJpB-ZzIZ8ly815DQuOrOZFa6eochlKtXd_X$ > is a wonderful resource, with many essays on the major topics in the field. I'm also happy to be in touch if I can be of any help in this area!
