Dear Safranim, I am posting the question below on behalf of Shirley Vernick. Please respond directly to her by email. Thanks, Heidi Rabinowitz
Hadassah Northeast is hosting a virtual event about children’s books in school and public libraries in the spring of 2026. We're currently looking for panelists: - A school or public librarian who can speak to the current state of library book offerings: Palestinian vs Israel – is there a balance? Are the books being read? Are parents, teachers, or community members asking relevant questions? Etc. The “current state” could be addressed at the local, regional, state, or national level. - Someone who could talk about strategies that parents and other community members could use to help get Israel-positive (or other Jewish-positive) books into libraries and classrooms. This may or may not be the same person as above. If you might be interested in participating as a panelist, or if you know someone who would make a good panelist, please contact Shirley Vernick, chairperson of Hadassah Northeast’s advocacy and action committee: [email protected].
