Why is it that almost every bit of (hateful) software on my Windows box
insists on installing its own scheduler?

There's the Windows one, the Java Update one, the ThinkPad updates one,
the HP driver update one and (most recently) the irritating and
intrusive "InstallShield Update Service" scheduler (which never seems to
be able to connect to its servers anyway). In fact I think there were
some more but I've deleted them.

Why can't they all just use the Windows scheduler? I'm sure it's
hateful in some way but it's better than having all those extra
processes hanging around duplicating each other.
