I could write a rant about something in that direction about every other
day. 

The annoying thing is that with my Linux box, Xinerama and my window
manager configuration it could just work fine -- if only applications
would listen to the damn window manager hints. But no, many applications
think they are smarter than my window manager. Joy.

It gets even better when using a laptop with external monitor. Ever
played hide and seek with applications that open on the currently
unplugged external monitor?
