In Firefox, you can do this from the Page Info dialog that Cmd-I brings up. It's not obvious that you can select the page title label, but you can. Also, it includes a colon, so you have to either select carefully instead of triple-clicking, or you copy the colon along and delete it after pasting. "It could be worse" I guess.
