mysqldump generates database dumps that can be fed to mysql, the command line client.
mysqldump defaults to UTF-8 mysql defaults to ISO-8859-1 Confusion and hate ensues. Nicholas Clark PS and for an encore, mysqldump is capable of generating invalid UTF-8 given non-printing ISO-8859-1 data in tables. Still chasing that one down.
