I will be taking down one of our servers (mire) on Saturday at 7:00 PM New York time, midnight Sunday Universal Coordinated (Greenwich Mean) time.
There will be a brief outage on mire while I add 4 gigabytes of RAM and configure the system for remote power management. This will improve the performance and reliability of this server. You may need to restart your daemons running on mire, if any, if they are not set by cron to restart at boot. AFS, mail, Apache on deleuze, etc. will remain unaffected throughout. You will not be able to log in once mire is offline. I will try to work carefully and quickly. I estimate that on the low end the outage will be less than ten minutes; on the high end, as long as half an hour.
