Hi Andrea, The ./releases/hdf5-1.8/hdf5-1.8.18/ directory is the correct location of the HDF5-1.8.18 software.
There were starting to be a lot of files in the releases/ directory, so this was done to keep things manageable. The other 1.8 releases will be moved (slowly) into the hdf5-1.8/ location. (Similarly, HDF5-1.10 releases are found in the ./releases/hdf5-1.10/ directory.)
