Thanks Dhruba. It looks like the specifics of why a fileid is required (or if
it even helps) depend on future features. I think it is better to wait.
I think should really have strong requirements before adding such important
features or contracts in HDFS. Once it is provided it will stay for a long
time.. even if there is limited use.
