Suresh, I still don't see what is wrong with the patch I provided. This is 
about 30 line change (excluding tests), it is not a new feature, it is not 
incompatible, doesn't change semantics and passes all tests. Sorry in advance 
if I did not understand what scared you. I am trying to, so that I could fix 
the problem and get a new patch.

Arun, if you need to proceed with the release please do. It's the prerogative 
of RM to include or not certain patches. You asked to mark jiras blockers to 
attract attention so I did. I thought Suresh had some concrete suggestions, 
which I could have quickly corrected. But it is something else.
