In fact I played with Helen OS 0.5.0 before the 0.6.0 was released, and
since I didn't noticed anything concerning PowerPC in the changelog
(maybe I read to fast) I decided to stick with the 0.5.0 version.
Note that the release notes are usually quite brief and only concern
user-visible stuff, not implementation details. There are definitively
some changesets that might be interesting for you, for example:
http://trac.helenos.org/changeset/mainline%2C2286
http://trac.helenos.org/changeset/mainline%2C2183
http://trac.helenos.org/changeset/mainline%2C2177
Also the updates and fixes to the generic kernel code might be useful. I
simply don't see a reason for throwing away more that two years of
improvements. But it's your decision.
After all if I missed something incorporating them should not be too
difficult.
Sure. But I would still do a quick review of the actual changes made in
the kernel subtree since the 0.5.0 release if I were you, just to see
whether there is some interesting stuff.
Yet again, this is just my personal advice to you, nothing more :)
M.D.
