I had set $TERM to be xterm, even though I use urxvt, this makes screen
behave properly for some reason. Anyway adding..

(define-key function-key-map "\e[7~" [home]) 
(define-key function-key-map "\e[8~" [end])

to /usr/share/emacs/21.4/lisp/term/xterm.el works like a charm,
