I've never taped all the way over...and never had it budge either. I do check it during hottest hours or after big storms and have seen edges come up a hair. But a third up the roof or my arms length always worked for anchors.

When I get to the playa i'd connect the roof, run one tape anchor continuously to the other side all the way across OVER the uncontinuous tape for the other 4 corners with tape anchors.. if that makes sense.
