If I were to use CC and vinyl, I'd be following Tom's instructions at

I know he's only talking about vinyl to vinyl, but his instructions a very 
clear.  I've built one of his kayaks and had no problems.  Although I've 
have no other experience in using CC, I'd personally stick to using H-66.
