Not sure how strong the Pelican cases are -- but this one is $29.99!!! I would 
definitely trust MY hurdy gurdy in it, especially if you were placing it inside 
custom fitted FOAM lining which prevented it from moving at all.

Worst case scenario: you take it to the ticket counter as checked luggage; they 
actually measure it, and so it goes 1" over. So you pay for "oversize" which 
isn't going to be a big deal. 

Alternatively: you buy this case from the container store for $29.99 and then 
send your H.G. to Hungary IN ADVANCE via DHL.
