Pelicans aren't just strong, they are unbreakable!! Pieter -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Reaping Crone Sent: 06 August 2008 00:00 To: hg@hurdygurdy.com Subject: RE: [HG] CONTAINER STRATEGY (was: Transporting a HG as checked luggage)
Not sure how strong the Pelican cases are -- but this one is $29.99!!! I would definitely trust MY hurdy gurdy in it, especially if you were placing it inside custom fitted FOAM lining which prevented it from moving at all. Worst case scenario: you take it to the ticket counter as checked luggage; they actually measure it, and so it goes 1" over. So you pay for "oversize" which isn't going to be a big deal. Alternatively: you buy this case from the container store for $29.99 and then send your H.G. to Hungary IN ADVANCE via DHL. Best wishes to all!
