I've found this one recently:
http://turbo-tuner.com/pages/features.htm
anybody up for a christmas present? PLEASE....;-)
I had that tuner and I was *very* happy with it for tuning a harp, but a
fiddler friend of mine loathed it for tuning her violin, unless she plucked.
It was so sensitive that if she bowed, she couldn't stay close enough to the
center of the pitch to get the lights to stop moving. Using it to tune a
gurdy might have the same down-side, I don't know.
I never used a lot of its whizbang features, including preset tunings for
all different sorts of temperaments, but they exist if you want them.
Unfortunately the tuner fell out of my gig bag in the green room tent at the
Virginia Ren Faire and was crushed when a group of Shakespearean improv
comedians set their prop trunk down on top of it. (Since all that's left of
the poor tuner is that story, I'm glad it's a fairly good one.) I will
replace it eventually, but I think I'll use my cheap little Korg for
festivals from now on. It's not like you're ever really in tune for more
than 30 seconds when you're playing outside in 95 degree/90% humidity
anyway.
