we used to do one hour in each step formalin through to paraffin (2 steps of paraffin). But 4 to 5mm is a little on the thick side. We used to try for 3 mm. But didn't always get it that way.

Currently the blocks have cut and stained well but 4-5mm thick tissue has expanded (bulged out) following cutting as if they had absorbed water. Solutions been all changed. thanks Stephen |Stephen Kum Jew |Senior Technical Officer |Discipline of Pathology |School of Medical Sciences |Blackburn Building D06 |University of Sydney NSW 2006 |Australia |Ph: + 61 2 9036 9027 |Fax:+61 2 9351 3429 _______________________________________________ Histonet mailing list Histonet@lists.utsouthwestern.edu http://lists.utsouthwestern.edu/mailman/listinfo/histonet _______________________________________________ Histonet mailing list Histonet@lists.utsouthwestern.edu http://lists.utsouthwestern.edu/mailman/listinfo/histonet
