Mike,

There are a number of yellow counterstains commonly used, including picric acid.
For your purpose, I would recommend the following in order of preference;

Tartrazine (Acid yellow 23, Food yellow 4) CI 19140,
Metanil yellow (Acid yellow 31) CI 13065,
Martius yellow (Acid yellow 24) CI 10315.

Regards,

Bryan

Subject: [Histonet] Yellow counterstain

I have seen Tissue sections counterstained with a yellow counterstain. I would like to use an Iron hematoxylin with this counter stain. Can anyone tell me what this is? Are there any tips/tricks to this counterstain? Thanks in advance!

Mike
