We also use Calbiochem on the Ventana Ultra and XT platforms.

Hi Gudrun,

We use the Calbiochem antibody Cat No DP02 on the Bond Platform (see below)

We originally compared it to the Novocastra's antibody and found it superior

ANTIGEN NAME: BK Virus
OTHER NAMES: SV40 T Antigen
Clone: PAb416
Isotype: IgG2a

DESCRIPTION: Monoclonal antibody to the ~94 kDa SV40 large T antigen.

STORAGE CONDITIONS: 4-8oC undiluted

SUPPLIER: Calbiochem DP02
PROCEDURE:

Methodology: HRP-POLYMER Working Dilution: Bond: 1/700
(ER2)
Special Conditions: EDTA Heat induced epitope retrieval required
CONTROL TISSUE: BK Virus Control

Inbuilt Controls
CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE:
In immunocompromised patients, BK can cause a morphologically manifest renal
infection with cytopathic signs and functional impairment. In native and
transplanted kidneys, BK virus is found in areas of interstitial nephritis.
