It is my understanding that you still need a negative tissue control but if using a polymer detection kit that you may stop doing a negative reagent control. The negative tissue control is a tissue known to not contain the antigen in the tissue, it can be an internal control, or a separate control but if internal control, then it must be designated as to how it will be used in your procedure manual.
